Yes, you read that right--I'm going to be posting non-fiction works on this blog in the near future. It's mostly going to be the papers I wrote for classes this past semester. There might be some papers from a while back, if I can find them. I'm going to try and polish the ones I like so that they're the best they can be before I post them.
Yet another journal-type place for Darcy to rant, rave, and/or recuperate from the world.

To the English Teachers by DSDragon
You've taught of many lives
Since I was but a lass of five.
You've taught me how to see
More than just the "thou" or "thee."
Taught me to look deeper,
And never to forget
That Shakespeare was more
Than just Romeo and Juliet.
I've learned to appreciate
Frost, and Wilde, and Dickens.
You've shown me the works
Of Wordsworth and Shelley . . .
Caught my interest as the plot thickens.
All my life, you have made me aware:
There is meaning . . . everywhere!

The Shy Man's Voice by DSDragon
Do what the shy men do:
Let the music flow through you
Until you've found anew your
Courage of the world.
Fear not the darksome lurker
That scares the wits of any berserker,
But instead look toward that
Light of lights, the music in your soul.
Cry out your love and your devotion,
For not even the poor in spirit need a potion
To help them gain the love of the knocker
Of the knobless door.
Let love and music fill your heart,
And proclaim it as the timid one's habit:
Tell some lucky one you love them
With a song. . . dag-nab-it!
The darksome lurker = fear, rejection, Satan, all negative emotions and thoughts
That light of lights = What it says in the poem (the music in your soul)
The music in your soul = happiness, love, all good emotions and thoughts
The knocker of the knobless door = Anyone who is willing to love you if you let them (i.e. Christ)
The knobless door = Your heart
The timid one = The shy man

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr by DSDragon
I cannot think.
Each time I blink,
Another noise awakens me
From thoughts so serene.
I cannot read a book.
Each time I look,
Another vision
Drives me from my nook.
I roll my eyes,
I pull my hair...
Will you please
Shut up over there?!?
Yes, I am aware
That you have things to chat about...
However... I must warn you... BEWARE!
Or I will pound you into sour kraut!
